End of School Year Message

June 30, 2020

As the school year ends, the School District of Mystery Lake wants to thank everyone for the patience and understanding required during this time of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  School suspension happened abruptly in March and students, parents and staff did their best to ensure remote learning happened for our students.  This was not an easy task to take on and there was a learning curve for everyone involved.  Together, we learned many lessons.

At this time, we are working on plans for the 2020-2021 school year.  We are planning for the three scenarios as requested by the Minister of Education. Further information can be found at www.edu.gov.mb.ca. You can be assured that the district will be following the orders of the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer.  The province has committed to providing an early August deadline to determine which of three scenarios will be implemented for the fall.  The district will provide an update to the community by August 21, 2020.  Teachers will be returning to work on September 2 to continue planning for student return.

Please check www.mysterynet.mb.ca for the update in August as well as on our Facebook page.  Also, posted on the website and Facebook are the results of the district’s parent survey.  Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete it.  We will be using the information for school based planning.

In closing, we would like to applaud everyone for making it through the school year.  Congratulations to the graduating class of 2020! Best wishes to our retirees!  All the best to those not returning to the district.  To everyone else, we will see you in the fall.

Take care and be safe!
